Had a ride up Ramsey today to see the progress on Dave Hagon's SD resto. I went on the 400N, and Gill took the lowered 250NB on it's first long run. After a cuppa at Dave's whilst admiring all the bikes, we went up to Bodie's to check on the Fireblade progress. The photos on his thread don't do it justice, but he reckons there's still more cleaning to be done! There's still a few issues with the 250. The rear looks a bit stunted, sort of like a drag bike, low at the back, high at the front. Even with the shorter Virago sidestand it could do with a bit more lean, and the suspension sometimes 'crashes' over bumps, and I wasn't sure why. Turns out as well as being an ace polisher, Bodie is also a suspension expert. Apparently the suspension was bottoming out & had too much sag (whatever that means). A few clicks with his 'C' spanner fixed the lot - no more crashing over bumps, it leans a bit more on the sidestand & even looks less stunted! By the time we got home, she'd covered 75 miles on it comfortably - about the same distance from Liverpool to Buxton. Just saying....... My 400N also had a little milestone
