There were around a hundred and fifty kids and ten teachers and they were mostly in the pub it was brilliant And the best bit the entire holiday cost my parents £10 fifteen shillings and sixpence ,don't know what the sixpence was for . there was a school on a cross roads where we stayed all cleared out and the classrooms became dorms we were all on camp beds .outside you went down one road into Port st Mary and down the other one for Port Erin ,loved every single minute and got my first girlfreind while I was there she was two years older than me and had huge boobs or at least huge for a 13 year old

That would be our local primary, Rushen Primary. Sounds like you saw more of the Island than I did on my first visit. It was 1968 and I was on holiday with my mates from school after our first year at work. We never went out of Douglas, which was like Ibiza in those days, absolutely teeming with lads & girls our age, live music on in every pub & a brilliant party atmosphere. I came off my Tiger Cub the week before, and arrived on crutches. I had to go to hospital in Douglas to have the dressing changed & the matron took the crutches off me, said I had to walk without them. Did me a favour as I was soon walking ok - my mates had been moaning about how long it took me to walk from the train station to the ferry in Liverpool, while they carried my bag!
