this was the first road bike I ever owned (not actual one but same make & colour) I went everywhere on mine I brought it brand new in August 1979 on a V reg, I cannot find any pictures anywhere of mine which is a great shame but I came across this one on Internet & brought back good memories, I did own a few field bikes before this but I think the first bike you ride on road will stay in your mind forever, even if it's a horrible colour I loved that bike

Mine was a 1958 Francis Barnett falcon, 197cc villiers two stroke engine, an 8e if I remember correctly. No photos though, I didn't have a camera in 1970.lol
I painted it black frame, red tank, fitted alloy mudguards and ace handlebars, I thought it was the bees knees at the time.
It did seem slow though compared to the 500 triumph field bike we used to tear around the fields and tracks on the the farm I used to live onππ

My first bike was an LD150 too. Bought it just before I left school in preparation for starting work. It was ok for going to school, but not for the commute so after a few wage packets, I sold it & bought a Tiger Cub. No pictures of either, don't think cameras had been invented then

I did a Basil Fawlty on my LD,it wouldn't start start one night and I kicked the f**k out of it ie the front panels/ lights/ and side panels.Strangely it still wouldn't start and it was slung to back of garage where the engine was stolen,I had a camera but why would I want to photograph it? Bought a new Starfire to replace it............nicknamed the hand grenade lol.
