I totally agree. There should be fairness in all legislation and this correcting an unfairness. I am a holder of both full licences for many years and two years is a long while to be learning your trade. I have signed with pleasure.

Done & shared on Facebook hopefully get a few more signatures nothing will happen though I think government would like to see less of us, I bet if a motorcycle was only just invented it would not be allowed, shame as when I was young in late 70s most young lads started on mopeds & found a great freedom & a lot progressed up onto bigger stuff & test was prob a bit to easy but now it's silly the amount of time to get onto a nice sized machine.young lads today seem to be interested in electronic gadgets iPhone, iPads, Xbox etc & don't seem to be out as much as the days I remember I was never home always out & bike was my life, so glad I have got back into motorcycling again after having the kids lots of fun to be had on two wheels.

How long were you between bikes Rich I went 23 years .I said to my mate when I got my 250 SD 5 years ago ,"you don't realise how much you've missed them untill you get another" this last 5 years has been brilliant

I was around 18 years between bikes although I did have a few scooters in between the motorcycles but not sure they count Terry so 18 years really I want to keep on two wheels for as long as I can

I believe legislation similar to the draconian bike laws should be brought in for car driving learners as a youngster can take the car test on their seventeenth Birthday and then drive powerful cars even Supercars if they have the money straight away with no road craft or experience.I've never had driving or riding lessons and I passed both tests first time, but less cars and fewer idiots driving fast cars around then I have signed the petition

Those rules not applicable here, but wtf, I'm a British citizen, so I signed it! Rules are a bit more sensible here, 16 for provisional - applies to cars & bikes, but cbt required for bikes, Then limited to 125 until test passed. No limit after that, although insurance might be a limiting factor. Consequently, there's quite a few youngsters using bikes to get to work, but not like the 60s & 70s when almost everyone started their working life on a bike - Tiger Cub for me
