Just been ripped off again by my insurance company. I had insurance for my cbr650 which I paid up front for last June 1st so it would of run out 1st June this year total cost £82.00 which I thought was a good quote from bennets. I changed my bike on 1st May and the quote bennets gave me was £158 more for the rest of year to 1 June I thought it was a little steep so i did a few comparisons I knew it would be more than the last year as bigger engine, but I found a good quote with MCE so I went with them. today I rang bennets to tell them I no longer need insurance & to cancel policy ! I did not think I would get a refund so was shocked to find out I actually have to pay them to cancel policy ! Unbelievable I said to the bloke on phone that if I never told them about not owning the bike any more I would not of been charged & he agreed, but I said to him it's the law we are supposed to inform insurance company & again he agreed so for being honest I have to pay to not be insured any more, criminal in my eyes & I expect the phone number I had to ring & go on hold prob cost me a fiver as well, rip off Britain

Yep , I just took out insurance for my 250 SD and went with Swintons because of the Bennetts costs to change /cancel , IIRC the cancellation cost is £50 - so at £82/yr perhaps only £20ish of "credit" left and so £30 to pay.......... I've ended up insuring bikes that were in bits in the garage as it was cheaper than cancelling !

They seem to do whatever they want & small print is pages & pages & they know nobody reads it so its all in there so I just won't use bennets again but it seems they are all twisted

Insurance is a scam from start to finish- and of course because you have to have it the taxman keeps grabbing more and more of it. I mean- "Insurance Premium Tax"- where the f**k did that come from?....

I don't pay to remove a bike and only pay £15 admin to add one plus few quid extra premium on new cover.Superdreams are classics so use a classic bike specialist like Peter James as I do classics and modern with agreed value included

All 3 of my bikes are with Bikesure, just renewed the BSA.
Every year I have to point out to them it is cheaper to buy a new (identical) policy from them via trhe web than renew directly - paid £58 for the BSA - the original renewal was just over £80
It the brokers adding margin and admin charges rather than the insurance companies

Many factors determine your premium ie bike/age/job/postcode/health etc. etc. I paid £275 for 5 bikes both old and modern.Carole Nash are total f**kwits when it comes to bike insurance I stick with Peter James they know and understand about bikes,Carole Nash kept referring to my Jota as a Joker,as I said f**kwits but their mugs are useful that they give away pity they treat us the customer like mugs

I have been with carol Nash for 14 years now this will be my last I have a very unique policy at a very good price, there are 11 bikes insured for road use and 10 in storage.in aug 14 had a RTA that's the second time I had a claim with them .Jan 15 got my quote for that year it had gone up by £480 rang them was told till my accident is settled it's down as at fault any extra premium will be refunded when settled.2016 to 2017 it had gone down to £180 more than I usually pay as with last year still down as at fault you will be refunded when the accident is settled.the accident was settled Oct last year.rang c n up for my refund, agers had still got me down as at fault,18 December after threatening them with the ombudsman they put the accident down as no fault.from the new year till now still fighting for the excess premiums I paid .This years is back to what I normally paid .Now in the hands of the ombudsman.the best thing is they are not disputing the refund I am entitled to due who will pay it back agas or carol Nash.
