I've got three bikes to MOT this year not looking forward to not that their will be massive issues just the hassle & time of taking them down there.

I got two done yesterday and quite enjoyed the experience , chatting to the tester and the garage full of "hangers on" most of whom owned a SD if not their brother or mate did! . No one had a bad thing to say either about my particular bikes or the SD in general - or at least not in my presence ! |

Having past its mot I decided I would take RGV out for a good run today, I was ware that the oil light flickered on tick over. After about 5 miles the oil light came on and the engine lost some power so I pulled over asap and switched the engine off. I waited about 15-20 mins restarted and oil light only flickered on tickover so I decided to head home, about 2 miles later oil light came on and power loss again. Pulled over waited and headed home, ditto stopped ditto got home eventually.
HELP/ADVICE PLEASE the engine sounds smooth and there are no knocks taps or funny noises, I have changed the oil and filter after a flushing oil sequence as the engine has stood for a long time.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, please only serious ones and no pi** takes

Does sound like it'd be worth getting the RH engine side cover off and cleaning/checking the oil pump and pressure refief valve as a first cheap pass?
