has any one put a inline petrol filter on a cb250n was going to put one on today just cannot get it to fit I have never found a successful way of fitting an inline filter. I tucked one up under the tank at one point but found it created an air lock in the line. So now rely on the filter inside the tank (got a new tap comes with a filter) www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB250N-SUPER-DREAM-1979/part_189336/

Like Graham, I've now fitted pattern taps to my SDs, they're about the same price as a replacement screen anyway - if you can find one. I haven't fully weaned myself off inline filters on them all yet though, this is the 400NA set-up. The filter tucks behind the reg/rec. This is the filter I used, and it's important to use enough hose to avoid tight bends. I tuck the hose from tap to filter up under the tank, then take the hose from the filter in a long loop out the bottom of the side cover to the carb. I have a different filter and routing on my 250, and I've ignored my advice about avoiding tight bends, but I have used fairly heavy duty hose to avoid kinks blocking the fuel supply. This filter wouldn't fit behind the reg/rec, so it sits on top & the hose loops back under the tank. It seems to be pot luck what in line filters the bike shop has in stock. The only problem I ever had turned out to be a duff filter (a different type to either of these)

It's 6mm id Harold, the filters in the photos have 6-7mm barbed in/outlets. The hose I used is about 11mm od, but I've used mini hose clips to fix them so I wasn't too worried about whether the original wire clips fitted or not.
