A member on here mentioned poor fuel consumption on his 250N earlier and I jokingly remarked it may be someone syphoning his petrol. But it has reminded me of a story that my dad told me....and I wonder if you have any similar stories, bike related or not. So here goes. Back in the eighties, a work mate of my dad's had a Honda C90, a mid seventies model in brown. One day he had it serviced by one of the apprentice's grand-dad who owned a local bike shop. When the bike was returned it was dropped off in its usual parking spot so that Keith (the said workmate) could jump on it and ride home as usual, on a freshly serviced bike. After around an hour of it being back, some of the blokes at the factory poured oil (from the machine shop) on the concrete under Keith's bike to look like it had developed a serious oil leak. Nasty or what?

I reckon there are many an apprentice on here that have been the victim of something or other. 'A long weight' from stores and a 'Left Handed Screwdriver' were my own personal experiences working during a summer at a VAG garage.

I had a dirty trick played on me by I think so called work mates My first brand new motorbike - Honda cb50 1980 in green
A few weeks after buying it & was still running it in, I jumped on it ready for my 8 mile ride home & I kicked it into life only for it to go to maximum revs as soon as it started !
Some knob had wound the throttle cable (only 1 cable on this model) to flat out I don't think any damage was caused as it was a very reliable bike (slow though as restricted) for the few years I had it but I was really pissed off & never found out who done it.

When I worked in a body repair shop many moons ago, we used to get young guys in for work experience and there was one who was a wee bit cocky, a bit of a smart arse. So I phoned the fella round the corner who worked in the tyre fitters and told him I was sending a wee lad round as a prank. So I sent the wee guy round told him to ask for Michael who would give him a Fallopian Tube, Michael gave him a inflated rear tractor tyre inner tube which he pushed round to our workshop. When he arrived I said "What the f**k is that ?" to which he replied "It's a fallopian tube" I said they have given you the wrong one and had him pushing massive inflated inner tubes back and forward most of the day We also used to send young guys up to the local motor factor place for radiator caps for a VW Bettle, tartan paint etc. etc.
