The pattern Gold wing master cylinders work ok but are no better than the original except for being newer as they have the same bore etc .

If you replace your original 14mm MC with a 5/8" version you should expect less lever movement but decreased braking force.
There was something about the GL1000 brake system- MC similar but caliper pistons different diameter. Can't remember, maybe na44 looked into it.......

hi hasn't someone on this forum mentioned changing calliper for one of aVF1000r ? if that works I would not mind doing that myself because to be blunt the brake is crap on mine it hardly makes the forks dip when u grab a hand full of lever lol

Some info...
The easiest way to get a twin pot caliper is getting hold of a decent XBR 500 caliper, the caliper body style is different, but otherwise it is the same as an American CB400T HawK. The 276mm brake disc can be sourced from a 1981 CB900F 750 or CM400/CM450. Though 276mm is the same Diameter as the CB250NA's std disc.
Left Bracket 45110445632, CB400T 1981 Hawk, CM450C, XBR 500, (CB250NDD).....
(Bracket Available from DSS for £117 new + P&P!)
A lot of the bikes around this time had the anti-dive arrgt on the left fork leg, so the bracket is the availability problem rather than the actual caliper. Easy to get a matching right hand caliper if a twin disc set-up was need later.
Example, XBR 500, CB250NDD, VF500F/F2 had 30mm x2 pistons..etc
VF1000R & CBX750 example had 2x32mm pistons (but the left mounting brkt was an anti dive component which won't be any good for an SD).
The 30mm twin pot will give approx 1400sq mm of piston area, compared with the 1130sq mm of the original single pot caliper. 24%
