Hi, Great Forum, Have just acquired a (very) second-hand 1983 CB250N, which I am about to start restoring. I was looking for a bike with local heritage and found the perfect project with matching Frame/Engine numbers and the old brown book, dating back to the first owner, with the wonderful registration number of "48 ZR" (Simpler times). I have been inspired by some of the work done by members on this forum on the other threads and will no doubt be drawing on the wisdom of the folks here for advice on the project, I have attached a picture of the old girl in the workshop.

Thanks for the warm welcome, yes, the Kingspan is the business this time of year, five minutes with the heater going and the workshop is lovely and toasty. The picture probably makes the bike look a lot tidier than it actually is, will be giving it a full restoration, so will start a new thread in the resto section of the Forum. Will be aiming to get it to the same standard as the CBX I finished last year.

Hello and welcome rainman, I too am a newbie I am also hoping to find a superdream as a project / restoration I thought about getting a superdream just like my first ever bike 80,s black 250na....I first thought about getting one about ten years ago but never got round to doing anything about it family life etc, I wish I had done it earlier cozy they really seem hard to find now, I may loose the opportunity I guess, and may have to bye a quality restored one instead.....I'm only hoping that some of the regular quality restorers on this great site will feel sorry for me, and sell me one of there's !! enjoy that resto, look forward to see how you get on, I had a cbx once loved it! Felt "Ard" on it lol. great bunch on here full of help.....

Thanks for all the kind words, well spotted britpete, that's my pride and joy, a 1959 BSA A10, took me over three years to restore, don't even want to talk about the money spent, but she's like new, I recently discovered that the very first owner, an old boy up the country, is still alive and can't believe his old beeza is still on the road, so as soon as the weather starts to pick up a bit, I'll be taking her up for a reunion with her original keeper. Keep the fate hyside, there's usually a reasonable supply of 250's out there, really enjoying restoring my one, they're a great project to work on and the great community here speaks for itself :-)
