TIN PLATE "EXHAUST REPAIR SCROLL" Hi It is possible to repair a Blowing Exhaust Downpipe and Silencer using a Tin Plate Scroll held in position by Jubilee Clips. I recently used a small 227 gram Sainsburys 'Pineapple Pieces' Can to make such a repair.
Here's How:- Open the Can at both ends, then cut at right angles. This gives you a Scroll. Offer the Scroll up to the Blowing Area and estimate length required. Cut to length required. Have 2 Jubilee Clips of correct size available. Make sure the Jubilee Screw is on the inside, then tighten up.
This makes a sucessful repair. This same Technique can be used on the 'Tapered' part of the Silencer using a larger can.
Regards Wilf

that repair definately works ....have used it in the past my self ...another get u home fix...its worth carrying an electric connector in the bike tool kit the type where you put wires in and tighten screws down onto...it can be used as a make shift end for a broken clutch cable (or brake cable as it did on my cb100n)
