Hi It is well known that Honda have used Untinned/Unplated Copper Cables in the Wiring Looms. When Copper comes into contact with Air it Tarnishes and Corrodes causing serious Electrical Faults which are often difficult to detect.
Here is a suggestion for making up a reliable Continuity Tester (Wireman's Buzzer) to Trouble-Shoot the Wiring and to test Bulbs and Fuses. A scrap 'Smoke Detector' can be converted as a Continuity Checker quite easily.
I can give Full Details how to do this if required.
Regards Wilf

What I have found is if you're trying to diagnose general vehicle wiring faults you don't want to use a low current tester , ie a multimeter etc as a lot of problems are dirty/high resistance joints etc a 21W or higher bulb being much better as it will not light or not brightly where your DVM will still show 12v albeit unable to pass any significant current .

If you have and a Battery is fitted, can you see the Test Button? This is usually a Red Button and on top of the Detector. (This can vary with different manufacturers however) When you press the Red Button does the Alarm Sound? If yes, come back to me and I will talk you through the conversion process. Regards Wilf NB These Buzzers will test Fuses,Bulbs and Stator Windings etc.
