GET YOU HOME TIP Hi IF YOU ARE UNFORTUNATE AND EXPERIENCE A SNAPPED ACCELERATOR CABLE AND YOU REALLY NEED TO GET HOME, HERE IS A TIP.
WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, GO TO THE ENGINE TICK-OVER ADJUSTER WHICH IS UNDER THE CARBURETOR AND SCREW CLOCKWISE TO GIVE AROUND 3500 RPM. SWITCH OFF THE ENGINE. GET ON THE BIKE AND ENGAGE 1ST GEAR. START THE ENGINE, LET IN THE CLUTCH AND RIDE AWAY. 3500RPM SHOULD GIVE YOU ABOUT 15 MPH ON REASONABLY LEVEL ROADS. (YOU MAY NEED MORE THAN 3500RPM FOR HILLS)
I USED THIS METHOD MYSELF RECENTLY FOR A JOURNEY OF ABOUT 8 MILES. (AND GOT HOME)
REGARDS WILF

Last time this happened to me I swapped the push cable for the broken pull cable it was a bit heath robinson as the fittings on the handlebars are different but it got me home riding normally

Done Terry's type of repair in the past too, one old friend of mine used to call the decelerator cable "the spare" lol
