Effing car broke down this evening, just stopped at the bottom of the hill we live on. Never had a problem with it before & was stumped. In desperation I tramped back up the hill to get a can of petrol from the shed, although this was unlikely to fix it, the gauge was showing 1/4 of a tank & I regularly run it down to the empty mark with no problem. Walking back down with the can, a guy on a dirt bike passed me & turned back to see if he could go & get petrol for me - he assumed I'd run out & was walking to the petrol station. I explained the situation & he offered to go & get his car & tow me home! I'd decided to leave it where it was if I couldn't get it going & arrange recovery to a garage tomorrow as it was unlikely I could fix it, but what a generous offer, we didn't know each other & he didn't know I was a biker. Can't imagine a cage driver doing that these days! Edit: Unless they have a bike back home of course
