Hi all, many thanks for the welcome, sorry for the late reply, I have been laid up in bed with man flue, a real nasty one I am yet to properly get over it and it now hangs heavily on my chest . My personal quest begins, but first carlthebandit, the cb650 is indeed a DOHC, on a B plate one other owner from new, it's in that deep maroon metalic red, for now a keeper My quest, is not unusual it's probably been done before, and if it's old news to you all then I apologise in advance, I do need all your help if any of you would like to. I would really like to try and find my first bike, a cb250na. In black, the registration is FMR578W. I have done a vehicle check trough Auto trader, it has come back as being last registered for the road in 1992, a long time ago I know but everything else about it suggests it's still about somewhere, it has not been registered as scrap, stolen, etc...so.. I'm crossing my fingers that it is still around, and would any of you fella's out there help me to find it through your network of friends and associates etc,so I can obtain it, Restore it,and enjoy it with my sons. And join in with fellow SD owners and forum members on the occasional ride outs. I'm in the south near Stonehenge, and no I don't were Druid stuff and chant at the stones at midnight in the rain during the summer solstice lol. I hope we find it I rely do, I also look forward to making fellow SD friends in due course, and look forward to getting involved with your forum, and it's wealth of wisdom and knowledge . Ok, grovel over now. Let the quest begin lol 29dz8zk in the meantime, I will have a good look at the site, and learn were my posts should be regards Hyside.

Having looked up lots of my old registrations they say last taxed date - in reality it has been scrapped and the log book not registered as such with the DVLA
Good luck but would not be very hopeful for you

I run a few checks on old bikes i owned myself recently and i was disappointed to see most were last taxed years ago or simply gone to parts heaven. Its always a long shot, i managed to find a 90s bike of mine not so long ago and i was pleasantly surprised to find another old bike appear on gumtree one day looking in great condition

I owned a 1959 Triumph Speed Twin 5TA back in 1968, had it a couple of years and had to sell it. Thought I'd look it up a few months ago, reg FEK991 and it's still on the road! taxed and insured, MOT exempt, nice surprise, but I wish I knew who owns it now, love to see it again, and even buy it again!

Sorry to be so long with a reply,I have been away with work. thankyou all with your advise and thoughts I somehow felt that this would be a tuff one, and yes it probably has been scrapped, but a candle is still lit lol mansell I really enjoyed your story about your restoration, and admire your commitment with the build, especially finding your old SD to restore! Great stuff. If I'm to late in saying DONT SELL IT. I am am now on the look out for a 1980/1 250na,in black to fully restore, this is something my father and I plan to do as this was the first bike he also helped me to own and the bike he taught me to ride on if you know or hear of one send it my way pronto guys... thankyou. ps, I really do like this site .
