Very expensive "deluxe" British brand launched by Lord Hesketh in the 80's as an attempt at a Vincent alike bike. Prototypes were superb but production tolerances showed up frailties which cost them a fortune to fix. Eventually went bust and now in new hands with Harley derived motors I think. Bike in your photo would fetch lots of money as still desirable when sorted, as they can be. All this from memory, but Google is your friend really...

All this from memory, but Google is your friend really... That's what is best though - the 'memory stuff' from the people who lived through the era - it speaks louder to me than some of the inaccuracies on the net. Great info. Looks a beast. This one is up at £16k.

All I remember is every issue of MCN or Bike magazine touting the Hesketh as the saviour of the British bike Industry. It just never seemed to actually get there- maybe because of the problems bugsy mentions...
Looks awfully like a late CB900/CB1100 set of clocks and dash there....

Yes a lot of Honda influence / perhaps even collaboration?
Even the wheels look a bit like a modified comstar.

The bikes were expensive when new too, which always strikes me as folly if you want to sell lots and save the (British) bike industry. You also need an entry level or just smaller bike for those who like middleweights as I do.
The tech problem concerned transmission lash which they "fixed" with a retro fittable split pinion in the primary drive, the two pinion halves sprung loaded so the teeth spread to fill the gap as drive and driven pinions met. Bit of a "lash up" geddit?

When they went into receivership the administrators had an open day and sold off all the stock - my mate Neil went, the complete bikes were selling for about 12k

Heskeths were sold to the public without any development work carried out, customers did the development lol.Just an overpriced parts bin special assembled in Daventry,Cagiva and even Triumph co-op looked at buying the company, still being produced and have been in very low numbers over the years an S&S engine being used now. Will only appreciate in value if you buy one as not many made
