This request goes out to everyone on this forum who is properly 'part of it all'....
Please name the four bikes that means/meant the most to you in life - or of course been influential in your lifetime.....you may have 100......but please strictly now whittle it down to just 4....
These are not necessarily bikes that you have owned (as yet). I can start it off if you like.....here goes......here's mine.
1) Honda CB250/400N Super Dream 2) Suzuki MK1 / MK2 Bandit 600 3) Norton Commando 1973-1977 4) BSA A65 Lightning 1966-1969

A difficult one this, all I can say is the A65 Lightning (or any A65 model ) would not be in my top 100 Bloody awful bike, they likely had something to do with the demise of the British bike industry

My four in no particular order 1,400 Superdream , I loved my first one and nothings changed now I'm on my third . 2,Triumph Speedtwin 500 ,First "big bike" I ever rode it belonged to my mate and coming off a CD 175 I was amazed at the power 3,BSA C15 ,nothing special about these but I learned to ride on one so they will allways be near the top of my lists 4 BMW R90/6 like my Superdreams this one was special wish I still had it

When I were a lad a local family of 3 lads rode a BSA Starfire and 2 Lightnings all newish, both Lightnings had engine problems to do with bearings on cranks and other issues too I bought a new Starfire and that too was shite Obviously all A65's running today will of had reliability issues sorted, but I personally find the engine unsightly it looks like a big pear drop lol.I prefer Triumphs myself,I have had a couple of A10's which I am a fan of.Good luck with your viewing Nick. The A65 to have is the Spitfire with twin GP carbs, mate of mine had one, till the crank decided to come through the case

All the a65 is ,is a revamp of the a10.the timing side of the crank runs on a bush same as the a10 in fact the a65 is a unit construction version of the a10.the biggest problem was the bush .SRM are specialists and do a mod that replaces the bush with a bearing and a higher output oil pump I have had this mod dun on my a10 in fact they rebuilt the engine.if I was going to buy a a10 a65 especially at the price he wants for the example in the eBay pick I would want this mod .all the problems on these old bikes have ore can be engineered out to be made a very reliable bike. favourite bikes April is v4 tuono will never have one ,had one for the weekend just before my accident what a bike well beyond my capabilities will never have one the reason I like to keep my licence my rgv 250 as no 2 number 3 my buell xb12s will never sell no 4 a confederate hellcat bespoke engineering at its best

Suzuki Bandit. Must be mk1 and 1200 Cb400t Ducati 916 or 748. I'd hang one of these on my living room wall. Suzuki Gsxr 1100M Fifth and most important choice is any well thought out and executed custom/chop/streetfighter/bobber Can't define one but I know one when I see one. That list would change almost daily with the exception of the Bandit. Loved them for 20 years. And number 5 of course. Add: See, my post's been up less than 5 minutes and i've edited it already.. Twice..... lol
