Pics taken on my way home from a course in Birmingham last night......got me remembering. So can anyone else recall what awful tragedy occurred here in March 1981?

Mike the bike Hailwood died there on his way to get fish and chips, all that racing he did then dies because of some idiot on the road. Very sad.

Mike Hailwood MBE and GM in fact. Remember reading in the papers about his rescue of Reggazoni- SA grand Prix 1973. What a man....

"By 1961, Hailwood was racing for an up-and-coming Japanese factory named Honda."
