Those of an eagle eye will notice both the fuel taps on those SD's set to the 'off' position.

BSA/Triumph in the final few months put their "new" range on show and the BSA Fury Triumph Bandit ( Suzuki hi jacked the name ) 350 ohc models didn't have engine internals!! I still have a Photo I took in 1971 of a Bandit.Good suggestion ie bike ads I love looking at the old ones,wish I'd kept some now

Those of an eagle eye will notice both the fuel taps on those SD's set to the 'off' position. So even when they were new you had to turn the fuel off as soon as you parked up or fuel started gushing out the overlows?
