Hi I recently bought a very tired looking 250 super dream to restore as a present for my dad. He sold his in 1985 when my sister was born, the year before I was born. He always talks about it fondly, as has talked about finding one but has never done anything about it. As a family know one knows what to buy him for Christmas and birthdays! So we are putting our money together to fund the restoration project. I am a mechanic by trade, and have restored several cars. I can't ride a motorcycle and have very limited experience working on them. I live near leamington spa, I am interested in meeting other members in Warwickshire. I would like to see a decent 250 up close to get an idea of parts that are missing or not original on the bike I have bought. If you can help please get in touch.
Thanks
Phil

Warwickshire is Nick's back yard so you are in luck. If he doesn't chip in here PM "Fungobat" I am sure he will help. He has a half decent 250 by all accounts....

I have already sourced a pair of passenger handles and have the bolts. The rear indicators have been butchered and the fronts are not pretty either. The exhaust is motad, but the left down pipe is badly dented. I think the whole bike is made of bits of others, someone said that it has the later comstar wheels but the engine has a kick start which was on early models. Of course the kick start lever is missing. Currently waiting for my dad to go out so I can pop round and raid his loft for photos!

The rev counter cable is missing, the side panel clips are broken, the paint work is awful, that little front screen need to go! And the captive nuts for the passenger handles have been ripped out. Its far from a dream machine, but it is a start. Hoping to get it in my workshop once I have finished the Honda trx300fww I am recommissioning for a family friend.
