Picked up a spare set of side panels for my CB400N-A, today. These have been at the paint shop for some time but today I had the urge (and time) to go and grab 'em. The tailpiece is going to have to stay with the painter, Flakey, a while longer as when I was there watching him give 'em the final polish up, we noticed a speck of lacquer was not there - and it was in a real prominent area so he has held onto that for a few more weeks. It was like a spot of dust in the paint but it bothered us both - so best it was sorted. When I do get the spare tailpiece back it means that I can drop the original seat on in one go when the mood takes me without having to fart arse around switching the cowling. Chewing over the fat with Carl (The Bandit) the other week, he picked up on the gloss shine on the inners of the panels on my black NA and asked me if this was correct. I confirmed it was - I managed to get a NOS black RHS panel from Harpers of Cowley a few years back which confirmed this. Funny how on all other sd colours this area was satin black - another Honda quirk. ..........................and yes - the rear tail piece decals on the cowling fitted need re-aligning - I must have fitted that side p*ssed up. Replacements are on order. Tidy job.
