Hi All, In 1980 I bought a red 1979 T reg 250N SuperDream when it was 11 months old. That was when I was 18 and it remains the newest vehicle I've ever had. In fact my social standing over the last 38 years has increased by a mere 150cc as I have recently got hold of a red T reg 400N SuperDream. I hope to keep the bike up together but not looking to do a resto as it's my only form of transport and is in daily use. Also (at the risk of turning this into an agony page) I also don't have anywhere to work on it as my dearly beloved decided she didn't want to be dear or loved (well, not by me) so the house, garage and workshop have all gone hence my need for some cheap transport. The bike's in a not so happy state but it runs and as mentioned is in daily use. Although I live one mile from work I'm doing in the region of 150/200 miles a week as I often overshoot my destinations by a 'few' miles just because I can (which is also the same reason I have now grown a beard and now leave the toilet seat up). So that's me for now, chat soon Snake

Welcome - the fact that you run it every day probably makes it that much more reliable

Thanks for the welcome, I knew I would be looking for thoughts, ideas and solutions but find I'm already in need of suggestions now as I broke a major taboo of mine. In my introduction I spoke of the bike in the present. What I told you was that "it runs" and is "in daily use". What I should have said was 'so far it's been running and has been used daily' and so alas it has stopped starting.
It's an ignition thing (no spark what so ever) but I guess there will be a thread on here already so I will go look.

Having a think about the bike earlier and the photo above I'm thinking this has may have had a new front end? I'm pretty sure the early models all had chrome muds and polished forks. Does that sound about right?
Sorry.....I think this is the wrong place for this post so I will repost this in a new thread

Welcome along, mudguard looks to be off another bike to me. Ignition problem could be coil knackered, do all the lights still come on?

Hi Danrush, yep, lights work, starter turns over but no spark. It has been running a bit rough at times recently, misfiring, which I put down as a fuel/carb thing but apparently can be a sign of ignition problem too.
