Wondered what people thought of replacing the standard mirrors on the SD with bar end mirrors?
I can't make my mind up if they look good or not.
No matter where I set my standard mirrors I never seem to get a decent rear view so have been looking at replacing them. A mate has bar end mirrors on his bike but is there a place for them on my SD...I'm not sure.

Unless you put decent bar ends on they'll keep coming loose.I have a Silverwing that has mirror extenders on the handlebars and it makes a big difference even though looking at them you wouldn't think so,go on fleabay and search "motorcycle mirror extender"

I had a bar end mirror on my Triumph 3TA - bit of vibration and it moved - and with those Meridian Triumphs there is always vibration
In the end I bought some clamp on Brackets at Kempton Park, mirror extenders (came from Hong Kong) and a set of Yamaha style mirrors from Kempton Park - look absolutely fantastic and excellent rear view
I agree mirror extenders are the way to go - the ones on the triumph raise the mirror as well as moving the mount out although I must say I get a great rear view from my original factory fit mirrors on the SD

I used extenders (black anodised, allen bolt fixing, as seen on the auction site) on my CB250F single a couple of years ago and they certainly give you a wider, higher view without elbow interference. However, I carried an allen key with me as they tended to loosen easily, particularly if knocked when moving the bike, putting on stand etc. Tighten the mirror on the extender good and tight then the extender to the bars, or at least, I found that most successful.
