Hi All I learnt to ride in 2013 and have since been riding a CB500 twin, being newish to biking I've been reluctant to muck around with it as it's my main transport. A week or so ago, when i spotted an apparently functional super-dream i thought: "that'll be old and simple, I can have a play around with that and not worry if I completely mess something up."
...So i now have a 1979 super-dream (which is over 10 years older than me) with a 'not quite ideal condition' engine. I will either be: - repairing it and un-projecting it (it was clearly someones project... They had different opinions to me on what is sensible...)
- converting it to electric (electric motor and lithium power - it could end up faster than stock!)
- learning about how it all works and breaking it for parts... (which would be sad, but if the frame is bent or anything major then I may have to)
I'll start up a thread elsewhere where i'll post pics and information and probably a couple of questions Al P.S. I'm quite glad that there is a forum dedicated to SDs as it will make finding information a lot easier |

It looks ok because i took the pic from far away!  A gasket blew on the way home with it and I had to be towed home! I was planning on putting most details in the "what you did with your super dream" area, I can put the info here if people would prefer? (more people seem to be looking at this than the other area) |

Hi al, love the colour shame about the blown engine, if it's any consolation it wasn't the original engine to the bike, neither are the wheels, I'm sure you will have great fun whatever you do with her |

Hi Al, welcome to the forum. Looks like a good basis for a rebuild, at least before the blown gasket - but hey, that'll accelerate the learning curve .  Mind you, the electric power option sounds interesting...... |

Ooh, I didn't know that the wheels were non-original.
Any idea what the engine is off? just a newer CB250N?
