What four criteria makes a proper barn find? To me it's: 1) Cobwebs 2) Rust 3) A missing 'bobble' off the end of the clutch or brake lever 4) Moss

So gimmee four points. water residue in brake fluid Reservoir. soft spot on tyres, due to moisture. sticking brake/clutch levers. pitted forks. all this depends on atmosphere where it been kept.

I think dusty clock faces have to be in there ? - Preferably with a "bullet" hole - Plus it ideally comes with a selection of dusty , dirty spares ideally for another vehicle entirely.

Thanks for you efforts so far. Just four simple points would be good though. Is it really that hard? (Pulling teeth springs to mind).

I dunno , you try to help . In my (bitter) experience a barn find SD would have : dust throughout Tyres more than 15 years old but holding enough air just to tempt you ........ Multiple keys on the key ring but no steering lock key A rotting cardboard box of mixed 1960's car parts included . Many years ago a trader of my acquaintance used to turn old knackered bikes into "barn fresh" discoveries before they became so "popular" on Ebay , the technique involved black enamel paint ( mostly old Brits) , used engine oil applied with a brush and dirt off the workshop floor - it transformed them from no hopers into something that looked like it needed some love !

My four would be
1) an opportunist 2) a visionary that can see £ notes 3) a creative description, and of course 4) only one former owner
