Hi all I'm pete /cuddles ha don't ask haha I just got my first cb 1981 400n super dream maybe a mad move only time will tell its a running project I got off ebay . Its part café racer which is the way I want to go if I can . So sorry in advance if I get on your nerves asking lots of questions .

TZR 250 loved it tell it went bang
GSXR 400rr crashed it
ZXR 750 best looking bike I had
TL1000r it went bang lol was way scary

XJR1300 current bike I love it owned for 6 years

Hi Dan the first one speedo cable I refurbished callipers and put back on bike the speedo cable don't reach new speedo ? it did until I put callipers back on I'm guessing wrong one fitted so if there's someone on here that can measure cable for me so I can see if I have the right one fitted would be great cheers . I don't want to order new just to have same problem . pete

I can't measure mine at the moment, someone will tell you length soon if not answered by tomorrow I'll give mine a measure for you. Should reach easy though with slack mate so I'm guessing it's the wrong one.

Hi Pete, welcome to the forum. I've got a couple of speedo cables in the garage. One is the original from my 400N rebuild project & the other is a pattern replacement I've just got from David Silvers. They both measure 31" overall. Hope inches are ok!  |

I've just checked the Silvers order, and it was a tacho cable I ordered, even though it says speedo cable on the bag. So I had a search tnrough my boxes of bits & found another cable, this time 37", so I guess that's the speedo cable. You've probable tried to fit a tacho cable, the end fittings are the same |

Did you see my correction in my second post, Pete? I think 31" is the tacho & 37" the speedo. Btw, your bike looks pretty cool!  |
