I didn't even realise we were talking politics- bit confusing? Are we saying that the hundreds of members on here that we never get to see or meet, we are not because they don't like ride-outs or meets but would bring their bike to a show. Ah- maybe you mean just they would attend because the pressure of bringing a bike is not there?
Call it what you will- show, meet, ride-out. If it gets people together about SD's then great. But it does seem a struggle to get people out anywhere......

Main trouble I can see is the distance we all live from each other I'm very game for meeting superdreamers it's just nobody seems to be close by & as reliable as these bikes are it takes a long while to get anywhere I think I will get a 400 next as that extra bit helps keep up on long trips,on the Wales meet last year I was flat out most of motorway to get to meeting place riding just to maintain 70 - 75 mph & prob not doing much good to the old motor, fine on the meet riding around but long way home flat out again

Sorry Paul to come across confusing. I just thought all the issues being raised not in favour of this were a little political that's all - but maybe it was poor judgement on my part - maybe an incorrect use of words.
I just think the idea is simple - a central (as possible) location like a village hall. Some of us would bring our bikes in a van or some will choose to ride. No one wants to get soaked on a meet and I just thought that this would be a simple way of getting together - and seeing all the bikes instead of them being couped up in our hones / garages most of the year. It could also happen at any time of year.

Just confused as to what you were getting at Nick- I don't do politics in any event.
I thought I had then understood that you were trying to get peeps to come that had no bike or didn't want to bring one at all- which could be quite a few who are interested?...

I am quite keen, we could ride both our SDs, but it has to be in a reasonable location. When would be a good date?

Judging by the general response, maybe the 12th of never Irene.
I'm not sore about it - I still think it's a good idea but it does seem that location will be the main issue. We are spread out too far and wide I think to make it work. The cost of transportation of machines is something else that I don't think your average Mr SD will dip his hand in his pocket for - even if it means he will keep dry.

Do you have to go on your highly polished superdream? My superdream will be a toy...Because I don't expect to ride around the world on it anytime soon, and would not dream of commuting on it. I would be worried to death about breaking down and just could not be bothered with the stress. Plus the old girl deserves a good rest after all those years of punishment. I am working my way up to a 500 twin for my "get to work bike", Although keep being tempted by something a bit bigger, but they never make sense from the running cost point of view. But saying that my affair with motorcycling never has made much sense..lol May be better, if you don't expect people to ride half way across the country on their superdreams. If they do then all so well and good.. but it would be nice to meet up just for a chat and laugh, and if I see a few superdream all the better...

The whole point was to avoid this Chris - ride out **from the venue** of course if the weather is fine - as we know, we live in Britain and 99% of the time it is not guaranteed to be just that. The main purpose was to all get together with our Superdreams (some have more than one, some have none but still love the bike) in one place and natter / observe them. I think the point was missed by a choice few.
