What sites are you using?
When you do use this service you need to know if the vehicle has finance on it and if its been written off, Insurance would be useful for when the check is incorrect.

To check out a vehicle's MOT (and thus mileage) history I use the government MOT check. History is on there from around 2006 onwards IIRC. HPI - I generally use a £1.99 site check - found through google just to do a basic check to see if it has been written off etc. www.mycarcheck.com/?gclid=CO7c0YeRoswCFUJmGwod5QUASg
