Hi everybody I have just got my first Superdream, a 1984 400 in metallic red. It's lovely, wobbly and slow but lovely to look at. I have always wanted one and now I have I want it to be the best it can be within it's own limitations. The previous owners have looked after it well and the overall condition is very good but as noted above it is very wobbly and I struggled to crack 80mph, is that par for the course? if it is then fair enough I have other bikes to go faster on. A new pair of shocks for the back and forks springs will be on order soon, what other remedies are the 'go to' things to do on a soup dragon? your knowledge and wisdom will be well received. Pics to follow.

80 is a bit slow for a 400 it could need its carbs cleaning and a set of new plugs wont hurt these bikes were good for the ton when new so 90 is not beyond their capabilities ,once the suspension is stiffened up she wont be quite so wobbly they are easy enough to work on so enjoy yourself and welcome aboard

Welcome a good choice of bike, the 400 should have decent torque and do 80mph with relative ease so maybe clean carbs new plugs and air filter to start with,be nice to hear how your getting on with your sd and a few photo,s are always welcome here , Enjoy....

Hi Duncan, welcome to the forum. The main culprits have been covered - good luck! www.tecbikeparts.com do a decent replica of the oem rear shocks. The forks, maybe just an oil change?

Hi, Thanks guys I'll get those usual things sorted out and hopefully she will be just that little bit better. The old girl has been dealt a poor hand as I have also recently got a very fast and sharp Triumph street triple, but I'm not bias they are both lovely in their own right.
