The name I came across was Claude Rye I think? Perhaps another family relation? Claude Rye was a dealer in 50s/60s selling British bikes, one of my Velocettes came from there and registration numbers on bikes he sold had RYE--- numbers

Reading this post with interest, i remember ryes of fulham very well Or claude rye as it used to be. In fact in the last few weeks ive bought a 1963 Honda C72 dream sold by Claude Rye brand new in 1963 😉 I know that the dealer is long gone but i was wondering if there was any way of finding sales records for bike sold there ?

I believe that most of the registers in the London region cannot be traced see link below to register page of BSA Owners club that lists the where abouts of known registers www.bsaownersclub.co.uk/listexistingregisters.htmlI think the best chance is if the dealers deposited archive info with local authority archives but that is probably a long shot My BSA was originally retailed in Pride and Clarke in London - Luckily I have the original Buff hand written log book I have traced the original number for my Triumph as teh Registers for that exist
