Hi All
I just thought I'd sign in as a new member and introduce myself. I'm an experienced biker from Suffolk who has only ever owned Hondas and Suzukis. At present I have a CB 200B that I'm restoring, a GT250A and a GS750DB. Seventies bikes are my 'thing' as you may gather! I helped a mate put his Superdream CB400-NB back on the road after a 15 year lay off. I was so impressed by how well-made the bike was and how easy it was to work on and to ride that I've become very interested in these machines and would like to find out more. I must admit I haven't actually got one yet but that may change.
I've just seen on ebay a non-running model claiming to be a CB400n Hawk 3. I can't find any reference to this in the Forum Model Guide so wondered if this is an official factory version? If anybody could let me know I'd be very grateful, please.
Thanks

Welcome suffolkdream! A man after my own heart- I have 2 CB200's they are a lovely tiddler to own and ride....
Have you got the link to this Ebay "Hawk 3"? It was only us that used the "Superdream" label for the range of 250 and 400 oversquare 6 valve twins. USA called the 78 and 79 dumpy style 400's (our "Dream") the Hawk I and Hawk II, but their 1980 model was close to our CB400NA and they just called it the '80 Hawk. Likewise their 81 400 was most like our CB400NB but they still just called it the '81 Hawk. Other markets did refer to the later ones as "Hawk III" though....
Put up the Ebay link and quite a few will chip in and advise you what it actually is.....

Ah- you never said "Superhawk". Probably Japanese market and Q plated back when people couldn't be bothered to find out when a bike was actually manufactured. Read this honda-superdream.co.uk/thread/7074/super-hawk-iiiDesirable bike- well worth saving.....

Nice find.
Pretty sure this bike surfaced on the former forum some two years or so back. The person who bought it was annoyed that the seller never disclosed during negotiations that the bike was wearing a Q plate, thus the deal fell through and the bike returned home with the vendor.

That Super Hawk looks reasonably original.
