1980 and i have picked up my 1st SD250 in Boston Lincs. Beaming on a lovely sunny day i set off at 45mph running in speec to head home for Newcastle. Approaching Grantham i pulled away from some lights only to discover an increasing thud from the front or below the tank. My heart sank and this thud became a drone as my speed increased but stopped at tick over. In a layby i checked what i could but it wasnt till i returned from having a pee that the problem revealed itself. A blackbird had got stuck in my front comstar and its head was banging against the fork. Wot a mess but a relief. Whats your weirdest SD tale ??

That is a strange thing to happen I have been hit by a similar sized bird in the head while doing around 50 mph & I had a open faced helmet on as well I'm glad I wasn't going any faster I think it would of had me off

March 1997, I have a job working at NTL at Winnersh Triangle near Reading. On this day I'm on the 10am to 6pm shift and decide to take my Superdream, a black 250NA registration VNP 585V, into work. (This being the first bike I bought after passing my test the November prior).
As I pull out on a mini roundabout after looking left and right a few times, suddenly I am in the air.......bouncing off the bonnet of a beige MK3 Escort then slamming into the road......my god it hurt. As I'm laying on the road, a crowd quickly gather around me in a panic - not knowing what to do.
It was a weird experience as even to this day, I do not know where that car came from - it was as if it appeared out of thin air.

I got hit by a bee, which stung me right through a leather jacket and a sweatshirt. I ended up with a very sore and swollen man boob! Mike

I got hit by a barrier on the humber bridge a few weeks ago on my way back from visiting Paul, Bikes don't pay but you still have to stop at the booth, the guy waved me on and as I approached the barrier it came down right onto my flyscreen and broke it clean in half, the barrier flew round and was layed on the floor and I managed to get stopped OK. The barriers are designs to break a clip or shear bolt at one point so it swings away from whatever hits it. A funny experience, accelerating away from the booth then suddenly that happens, they Come down really fast as well you have no time to react.

I had a strange experience on the way into work last month ,I came round a bend on the country road leading into the village of Hooton Roberts and there in the headlights standing on the pavement was a fully grown adult Lynx luckily I was in the car so I slowed right down to see what it would do It gave me a right filthy look turned and planted its front feet on top of the wall and walked its back feet up the wall the last I saw of it was its stubby little tail sticking up in the air as it leaned forward to jump off the other side of the wall I'm glad I was in the car as I would have felt a tad vulnerable on the bike .That stretch of road has no street lights so I was on full beam I could'nt have had a better view of it
