Hello everyone,
As an inexperienced 400N owner, and biker generally, and while trying to learn as much as I can, I was wondering what you all have with you when out of your bikes relating to any tools or other 'necessities' that may be called upon in the event of an 'unplanned' stop!
It is evident that the SD is generally reliable but if the worst does happen and you breakdown, what sort of things can be sorted at the roadside particular to these bikes?
Many thanks Jim

A mobile phone although that wasn't very handy when my mate broke down on one of our Sunday runs back in the summer as up here in the glens of scotland you can't get a signal! Well you could but only on one service provider and nobody was with them! We had to leave the bike and I took my mate pillion on the Matchless to the phone box in the next village. Never carried tools on my 250 SD but I do carry tools on my Matchless. Which was handy as we were able to fix the RD at the side of the road once rescue turned up with a socket big enough for the crank nut... I also have a toolkit on my SB200 which I stole out of the 400 superdream before I sold it. I have added some cable ties, insulation tape and some length of wire which again was handy when another friend fell off his TS250 when we did a bit of off roading. he snapped the clutch lever off but we bodged it enough to last the day.

I have a spare clutch cable on all my bikes, the standard toolkit and a few extra spanners.
If I'm going on a long rideout on the SD,s I usually have a spare cdi and a coil in my pockets especially if there are a few of us, you never know.. In my wallet is the breakdown/recovery details and phone number.lol
