 Yesterday i went out on the SD to deliver a bereavement card. An 81 year old biker still on 2 wheels had lost his wife to cancer and a visit was arranged. On my way i got to the next village where a copper stepped out and ushered me into a hotel car park where a collection of around 80 bikers were gathered. Confused, i got off and instantly asked a guy i knew wot the craic was? It turned out that i had stumbled across a bikers funeral that i was unaware of. On returning to my SD i found it surrounded by people wowing it and making references to the deceased and HIS love of SDs. .......All i could do was play along and see the ride past out!!!!! Today i feel a tad guilty ! |

Dont feel guilty,
fate made an sd be there,
yours,
because all these bikers passed freind liked them,
It obviously pleased his mates that your bike was there,
I think you came along the road at the right time,
And if it was your freind, you still came along at the right time.
Its a fated sign of respect.

No im thick skinned, just kept my gob shut and brought up the rear. I just felt there was more attention to my SD than the deceased. Im told he knew me but for the life of me cant remember him. Waiting for a pic of his bike then i will know. Surreal moment i suppose ?

If the guy loved SD's then it was fitting that you were there and you just showed respect to a fellow biker, there's nothing wrong with that.
