While driving back to work from the Chippy today (Fat Friday) I found myself having the following random thought. I think it may be Nick's influence I was approaching a set of lights and the cars in front were braking and I found myself thinking that brake lights are a very simple and efficient method of showing the vehicle is slowing down, but here's the random bit. If brake lights did not exist and were being invented now I don't think with todays health and safety mad environment they would get approved, imagine the pitch. "I have invented a way of showing that vehicles travelling at up to 70mph closely together can indicate they are slowing down, we will put red lights on the back which are on anyway but brighten slightly when the car is slowing." I think the health and safety mob would laugh you out of the office and insist on all sorts of other audible and visual warnings. A bit random I know but what do you think and what other basic everyday things do you think would fall foul of the H & S brigade if they were being invented now.

What would be the H & S Brigades biggest concerns for Chips and Motorcycles you need to elaborate a bit more if we are going to take this subject seriously The most obvious on the motorcycle being the fact they have only one light which brightens slightly when slowing down.

Especially if you eat lots of chips, you become top heavy and over you go.

I think angle grinders need to get some attention from the 'elf and safety lot...
They have got away with far too much for far too long, H.

Can you imagine if they invented any form of motor transport now?....
What we gonna do if we meet another car/lorry/bus/bike/van?
Well, we will both keep to the left and pass safely of course.
What- at a closing speed of up to 140MPH on a narrow strip of tarmac- are you mad?
Ah- here's the thing though- we will paint a white line down the middle of the road- safe as houses!

I can`t be doing with the nanny state, you have to put your neck on the line occasionally,it makes you realise its good to be alive.
