I had a Triumph Scrambler version - for about 2 weeks but everyone else loves them ! Think I might have gone on about this before but I thought it heavy and not very powerful for a 900 , plastic chrome rear light , poor wheel rim chrome , quick corroding engine side cases , a "tool kit" that consists of an allen key etc ..........but I have not read/heard of anyone else who doesn't like them . I did not bond with it at all , P/xed it for a XT660Z .

That's one thing I wasn't impressed with when I saw a friend of a rellie's one in Vancouver a few years back......had a lot of chromed parts which were plastic......including the rear indicators. Her model was a 2001 so probably one of the first - nice looking bike still.

I test rode one many years ago and found it not to be anything special but consider that Triumph were aiming it at the older rider ie retired aged blokes that likely had owned Meriden Triumphs and wanted something that was low/comfy/electric start/didn't leak oil or vibrate and looked like an "old" Triumph therefore pretty boring, also I rode the Thruxton version and I did like that.Triumph have done the twin to death creating a version for all in various capacities and I personaly don't realy like them,I especialy dislike the Rocket three basicly a bike with half a car engine in it but there again I like Harleys lol PS I know the R3 is a triple

See thread "Hubby's new rear end" Just seen it - very nice....what year is that one of your husbands, Irene? I may be in the market for a retro styled commuter later this year - and was thinking about a Bonnie - that said it is probably a bit too nice to use for work......one of these may be more suitable (if all goes to plan) - not that expensive at all, probably be able to pick one up a nice used one for around 2.8k this year.....what do people think of the look? :

Its the twin horns that win me over Nick. Not so sure How the old back would like the riding position though.

Love the Bonnie in White though. This one is a 2011. Another strange thing that I have discovered is that those carbs are NOT real......but dummy.....
