Be careful with tyre sizes on these bikes if originality is your goal- it was a funny time for tyres and these bikes had the first of the new/old imperial size "low profile" tyres. This was the "S" in 3.60S and 4.10S and actually an arbitary % relationship between height and width that was never really accurately defined.
This can mean that nowadays a 3.25" quoted size from one manufacturer can actually be a bigger tyre than a 3.60" from another. Trap for young players on the fronts especially. I personally hate oversize fronts on these bikes, but the backs can be a bit bigger than standard and still look OK. I have seen oversize fronts that threaten to rub on the mudguard.
For metric- Avon Roadriders are a great modern tyre for these bikes- 90/90-19" front and 100/90-18" are closest to the original sizes, but lack a little bit of the original look but gain grip that exceeds the performance of the bike- and probably you......
