I'm struggling to find a decent camshaft on fleabay, and mine is u/s. Realistically will I find one that is useable?

I've got a bare head and camshaft that look ok , not finely examined them but look ok , no valves fitted though if you want them ?

Any chance you could take some pics? particularly interested in journals and lobes on cam and journals on head.

Will do , the journals looked good with no pick up etc and no pitting of lobe , will get some pics but prob not tonight !
With yours can you feel any up/down play of the journals ? Mine came with a bike and had all the valves removed for some reason , was it the owners book you wanted or a workshop manual ?

Your cam/head sounds good There was play in mine and worn lobes/faces and scrap cam had pitted lobes, although the scrap head is ok apart from missing fin corner near exhaust port. I have valves/valvegear so no worries there. I need a workshop manual and owners book. i have a haynes but its rubbish. Don't worry about pics for the mo. have a nice xmas!

I'm near J14 of the M1 , you can have the head FOC if its any use to you or swap for anything you have you don't want !  |

wow thanks! J14not too far for me. Will want head plus camshaft if poss. Let me know when's a good time to collect. Im away from 27 for three days , so after then would be cool

OK , I'm back to work Monday so weekends or can just leave it in a box for you to collect .
Head , cam , sprocket , and cam top bearings all booked out .....

There are some marks on the fin next to one of the plug holes that would sand away , wrong plug spanner maybe? Pics are thumbnails so click on them to make a good size .
