The yellow plugs on the good and still working (older) Yuasa are the screw up type with rubber seal.....the failed item does not have these - it has the push fit plugs.

I don't think there is much the Chinese are not copying now- it seems as though it's just accepted now. I'm terrified of buying my next NGK plugs as the majority out there now are fake....

Also, the terminals are a different shape.......therefore, is this a design change or a fake?

The fact is this battery has failed after less than 16 months.......so I think I can answer this question.

Yellow plugs just push in on my 2 Yuasa's and did on 3 recently sold bikes, never known them to be screw in.

Sounds like you have been faked too then.

Possibly as I have only bought one Yuasa recently for the Hardley and that's a sealed battery, all the Yuasa's I've had recently were in bikes when bought

Where did you buy the battery from? There's very few things the scammers don't copy these days which is why I only buy from reliable source, but even that's no gaurantee.

Both mine have been working fine & were fitted to the bikes when I brought them, not sure if they are fake or real but have never been a problem I do trickle charge them both regularly

I tend not keep bikes too long (Hardley an exception) so rarely buy a battery and if I needed to in past being a tight wad would buy cheapo ones from battery supplier in Warwick and they didn't last very long,a Nighthawk needed 2 of these batteries and my brother has bought another for this bike since selling it to him and this has failed too so 3 new batteries soon to be 4 in 5 years false economy buying crap but if Yuasa's being faked that's bad news

The one that is knackered after just sixteen months is the one *without* screw type yellow plugs in the cells and with no square topped terminals, Rich.
