If any of you have been struggling with poor starting and performance, it's worth checking your plug caps. I've had several bikes in the past which have been fitted with resistor plugs and resistor caps of too high a value. The DR8ES (on my 250NA) are resistor plugs. I'm going to check the resistance of my caps tomorrow (if I get a chance) to make sure that the correct ones have been fitted. I had a BSA Royal Star which had been fitted with electronic ignition. It took me ages to find out what was causing the poor running and starting. I eventually connected the leads directly to the plugs (no caps) and the bike started first kick and took off like a rocket (no pun intended!).
Does anyone know what the plug cap resistance should be on the 250 SD?
Happy tinkering,
Mike

I believe the below is correct Mike but don't quote me.
"The plug caps should ohm out at 5,000 if they are resister caps".
