Hi Gordy, Can you remind me where your mudguard re-chrome and re-rivet thread is please? As part of my front end tear down on SBY I intend to separate the current mudguard and have it re-chromed. I last did this around six years ago but my old supplier of the dome shaped rivets seems to have now disappeared. Any advice you could give me regarding the supply of these fixings would be great.......thanks in advance.

Hello Fungo, sorry for the delay, only just seen your post, the thread you want is here: honda-superdream.co.uk/thread/1317/refurbed-mudguard I still have a few chromed rivet screws left (see pics), send me your address and I'll post a set off to you. I used R&S Platers in Failsworth Manchester, he removed the bracket and chromed it separately. He's about 20 miles from me so I took the mudguard and collected it myself but he does do a postage service...as I recall it cost me £70, I was pleased with the result. His website is: www.rschrome.co.uk/

R & S Plating in Manchester.... Just come off the phone to these guys and I am going to give these guys a shot. I will send my front mudguard from SBY to them. Reckon they can turn it around within a few weeks. They will grind the rivets off and rechrome the bracket and main part for £70 all in plus the vodka and tonic. At that money, it is not worth me messing about separating it myself. Thanks Gordy - will report back.

I love this forum........
Just starting final re-assembly my CB400NC. I had split the plastic front muddy from the metal subframe/bracket so that i could get the muddy painted and the bracket powder coated. They were riveted together so i had to grind them off. Was sitting here this afternoon wondering best way to put them back. Just ordered the 1 inch ones as I think i need a bit more length.
Thanks all

Can't believe I cut up an original mudguard for the bratstyle project. I didn't realise at the time how hard they were to get hold of.

that looks like the same condition as mine, i have a small scuff which needs welding and filling then off to chromers at some point in the future. cant wait to see what it looks like when you get it back.
