I suffer as well, but I have my old faithful gs500 all weather ride to ease the symptoms Paul, you need to get something that you can ride anytime to keep the symptoms at bay until spring. Otherwise try this remedy it`ll take you r mind off the withdrawal symptoms.

I've got one! They are OK, just check the gear box!If the chain is OEM bin it more hassle than its worth. If the chain pops off will smash the engine, so keep it correctly adjusted.I would not call it a winter bike as it will rust like crazy. But if its cheap then, job done lol. They can easily do 95mpg & will give 105 if you ride carefully. Not the fastest 125 around. Only good for short journeys of say 10/15 miles tops. But saying that I was doing 24miles to work one way.Its a really fun bike to ride! Lovely and light easy to chuck around. Flat out on the round about trying to get the front to fail and then pull it back lol...saved loads on fuel.but chain jumped off going over an speed bump, smashing a pip off the engine, then all the oil pored out...oh new engine...

I've had a few 125s for my winter commute, an SR125, a Honda Dylan scoot, & a 125 Rebel. Paid 300-400 squid for them, taxed & running & got my money back when I sold them. No worries about dropping them, getting them wet, 80 mpg & great fun. Hills & overtaking are the main problems, but keeping the speed up on hills becomes a challenge & adds to the fun. Overtaking wasn't much of a problem for me; the typical speed on my commute was 40-50mph - below 45 I could usually get past & above that I didn't need to. I don't do the commute anymore, but I wouldn't mind another 125 for winter riding.

I'm going to use my Piaggio 250 (Honda engined) twist and go scooter through winter used it in torrential rain with the Tucano leg cover on other day bone dry on arrival 40 miles later also have a bigger screen for it that covers hands, almost looking forward to winter lol.Just bought a 180 two stroke version of same scooter that should be fun to ride too,Hardley and other bikes don't do winter/salty roads
