I`ve filled my 400 with aspen as well. Drained all the petrol and brimmed it with aspen.
I`ve not had a ride with it in yet but the two or three times I`ve run her she started better and as you say Andy, I had to tweak the tick over up a bit as well.
I`m also impressed with it ,I`ll know better when I get out for a run on her. but I`ve followed chrouchyuk on his 400 running on aspen and it was going very well.

Its not cheap Paul, around £18 for 5 litres, cheaper if you buy in bulk.

BP ultimate is my usual fuel, up to now it doesn`t have ethanol added in this area.

I should of said that I was given some to try in my historic bikes as they can be left for periods of time and true what the chap said it don't give as many probs if you leave fuel in bike for a while, since then I have only recently been looking at buying some, asked him how much, Made me cough a bit, but as they don't get ridden much, seems the price is same in all areas then, that's good to know.
Paul.

I bought a pallet of 54 5 litre cans to get the price down. Ended up just under £14 for each 5 litres. I could have got it cheaper still by agreeing to become a distributor- and I seriously thought about it. But feedback on here and elsewhere seemed to suggest people wouldn't pay the premium. Maybe 50 quids worth of carb kits in the spring is easier to stomach....
All my bikes winter on Aspen now.

Maybe A Good plan is use normal stuff during the main riding months and come to the end of your riding season, run a tank of Aspen through and like you say, leave it with Aspen in through the winter/ non riding period. Think your right tho on your experience of the feedback. Hmm, Think I will do that next year..... Paul.

Should be safe enough unless you drink it or set yourself ablaze. If there's a possibility of this, assess risk and proceed with caution. 2 stroke motors run hotter with ethanol, not ideal. The terminology may not be correct but the theory's good. Fuel goes off faster in a half empty drum. Oh that's why the chainsaws etc are getting recked. So ....Only use full synthetic mix....

I bought some Aspen off Paul in the summer and the first bike I have used it in so far is my GS500E....
And have to agree, the idle speed is low. What is the reason for this?

It's not a problem - I was just curious as to why the idle speed is slower - easily sorted by winding the throttle stop in a tad.
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the GS500E is running very well now. But I will keep the Aspen that I have left over and use it in the Superdreams over the winter period next year due to the expense of it. I shamefully used some to flush my head race ball bearings from SBY the other night before I realized what I was doing - very foolish considering the expense of it.
The GS has now kind of got a mix of Aspen, BPU and that Carlube Petrol Treatment in it but I intend to now use BPU only in that bike as it is going to be used from the spring quite regularly - I am still getting a very minor splutter but very very minor - only one out of ten snaps back of the throttle. I really feel the above mix has cleaned her up to a very acceptable running condition.
