Yes up to press in this area anyway there isn't ethanol added and it had cleaners in it. I run all my bikes on it Nick and have not had any carb trouble apart from the SD when I first got her running and now she's had a few tanks full through her she's spot on as well. My cb 500 was stood nearly 2 years with a full tank and full carbs and it cracked off no probs. It still smelled as fresh as the day I filled it up.

Just back from the serious burns unit.
Some bright spark lit a fag whilst I was brewing.

Never had a problem with fuel going off and I don't do anything before or after storing through winter.Sold a SD recently and it had stood for 12 months with less than a gallon in tank it fired up and ran ok,four star leaded petrol is still available not far from me and I'd stick that in if I had any concerns

I've put redex straight into carbs a few times, and while they've run fine afterwards, I can't say it was the redex that did it, as I did other things on the bikes in each case. It certainly didn't do any harm though - I never touched them afterwards. I just filled them through the fuel inlet, left them a few days, then reconnected the fuel tank & opened the drain screws to flush it out. Also recommend a good blast - I'm sure that works!

I have a Suzuki GS500E that hasn't seen much action over the past ten years although run every year and MOT'd. But literally has only done 1k miles in those ten years. When I got her last week she wouldn't rev beyond 5k......I flushed all the fuel out (it smelt a little stale) and she is now a lot better but she still isn't revving cleanly when I snap the throttle back.. Before I go to the hassle of having the carbs off, I wonder if I should try a little Redex.... Good news.... Have had her running now (tonight) on three separate occasions and she is revving cleanly through the powerband on the Aspen. Will get some BPU and redex tomorrow to help her a bit more......but I think we are on a winner.

Know that feeling. Spent a few hours cleaning diesel filters yesterday - hope to be allowed back in the house by weekend

What do yous think of this new sweet-whale-oil stuff, the guys have being sailing near the South pole and catching some type of whales and refining some sort of oil out of them. I think cold water fish have more oil and fat to keep them warm or something like that. It doesn't go off in their snow mobiles, all weather bikes, boats, generators etc, and they can cook and heat with it. I think it is a mineral oil, it saves them shipping oil thousands of kilometres.

Got a fuel can of BPU today and was also about to head to Halfrauds for Redex when I saw this stuff in Morrisons of all places. I nearly accidentally added it to my diet coke tonight but cottoned on just in time. The GS500E is now running well but I'm sure it would not hurt to give her some of this mixed with the BPU.

Just drained all the modern shite petrol from the 400n and put 5L of aspen in.......
1, Runs a hell of a lot cooler which confirms modern petrol raises the running temperature of older vehicles.
2, It reduced the tick over speed so had to adjust up.
3, And finally, it starts better and runs smoother.
Impressed with Aspen to the point I may run the SD on it more often than not.
