got info from other sites engine parts sent off monday and now back all work carried out and all parts supplied to rebuild the engine.not bad for a bike nearly 60 year old.so this winters projects ,the gearbox on the superdream the 6th gear has always been noisy got a full gearbox out off a very low mileage engine, the francis barnett will be great for the fizzy runs next year, and my latest acquisition always wanted one looks a bag of s..t but the engine is as sweet as the day it left yamaha and its a uk bike going for the flat track look thats me sorted over the long winter nights.you can tell bye the photo of the f b parts the wife is not in

rebore and piston full gasket set full seal set and full bearing set and door to door courier £220.work and parts by villiers services, mine is the rarer amc engine the villiers engine type are all available .it makes british lightweights a good buy parts are still available, and what superdreams and other jap bikes the parts are now making serious money. its ironic some bikes are more valuable as parts than a full bike.i will have this little francis barnett done to a reasonable standard for less than £1000 all in and no tax test to bother with.

Bought my XS650 couple years ago intending to do a flat tracker but mine is a UK custom model with 16" cast rear wheel and disc, wanted wire wheels but won't fit so decided on a front cast wheel with appropriate spacers etc. But have now lost interest, bike been off road since 1999 and has nice paintwork so likely tidy up and sell it.What wheels you planning to use?

Same here,my James was easy to work on but just didn't enjoy riding it especialy 2 up which slowed it down so much.Love the way these old Fanny B's/James etc. Were made ie cheap as chips for going to work on.Little known fact is James sold more bIkes than Triumph/BSA etc. during mid fifties in America as the Yanks bought them for their kids to ride round ranches etc.
