picked this up yesterday not sure what it was till i got it out this morning,all there but my eyes are bigger than my garage still deciding what to do with it.what do you think it is.

I was thinking Franny Barnet , looks like a Villiers barrel in the box. But I don't remember the swing arm on mine looking like that, and if I remember, the tinwear was different to this one..... so maybe not a fb. Decisions Decisions.

It was 45 years ago when I had mine,and the memory plays tricks I remember stripping the tinware off it and fitting ace handlebars, it was my first road bike.

Was going to say it was a James Captain but it would have been maroon in colour,was the Plover and Captain same bike? but badged differently,I had a James Commodore 250 cycle/frame parts thin on ground and no owners clubs for support,does it have the AMC engine?

you have got it in one grahamb its a 1959 francis barnett plover 80 with the amc t15 150cc engine

The AMC engines were a bit dodgy due to poor quality control,that is untill Villiers started building them for them,the Villiers built ones are prefixed with a V before the numbers
