Don't listen to them Nick, they are working for the devil, keep it standard, as you said its an early model, it would be sacrilege to chop it about.

And Nick, Heres an idea, Make it like a bike thats been out of the show room and used for 2 or 3 years, Good but not perfect (i dare ya ) I know its against your perfection levels but it could be the bike you'd use every day without beng scared to scratch it, Youd be suprised how much you can have an attachement to bike like that, bit like your first ever sd, It was after all a bit of a "freind",

Also the bike you dont care about never gets damaged, its the minters that end up with the objects falling off shelfs or the large stones on the road bouncing off your nos tank.

No mate it was a silver 400 SD kicker that I owned a year or so back - I got her to a condition I thought replicated a bike that was a year or two year old out of the showroom.
Member Crouchyuk owns that one now.

Yes mate it is. When I was in Reading this week I played around with my latest acquisition for an hour or so and bought its alloy number plate back to Warwickshire with me for some TLC. I'm in the process of cleaning it up right now. From memory, pressed ally plates are the norm in Oz? Or they were when I was there some 15 years ago.. Recall the NSW had a slogan 'Towards 2000', Victoria had 'Garden State'. And NT was.......darn that one is slipping my mind.

But yes, old ones were pressed steel done by inmates, now they are ally. There are quite a few people collecting old plates from yester year. Powder coater even made a comment it was a sin to have my steel plates blasted & re-coated..
