Think the non-adjustable floats never appeared until the NC's. 1983 would fit with when the other Hondas got them as well....

Most CB250NB / NDB 'C' carbs you will find to have the non adjustable floats.......the 400 obviously not and I have learned this now.....and it is my downfall. Clearing my desk now. Security on way to escort me off the premises.

400N carb collection building nicely.....two more sets on route.....although one set has turned up showing VB31 'E' instead of 'B'? Any ideas on VB31-E anyone?........what the dickens do these hail from? Guessing possibly a 450DX. Get it right and you can have six months unpaid leave from the forum.

I think the 450 carbs were 36mm so unlikely? I have 400 A, B and C and there are very minor differences only. You will notice the tops are a different shape- also the aircut lid....

Just to clarify - in this case please forget the box digit after VB31-B - A,B,C,D,E,F,G. etc etc
This is not about what is in the box but the VB31-B being VB31-E.......way before the box thing kicks in on the S/N.

Neither number seems to follow the Honda code for general parts, which should show the dimensions in the second 5.
81000 seems to have been used elsewhere on Hondas as a seat hinge pin as well as footrest, 82000 is the SD part.
But both seem the same size admittedly....

Whilst in the RG7 area last night I dropped in on my mate who's storing ANM........ Couldn't resist opening up his garage and wishing her a Happy Christmas - whilst assuring her that happy times are ahead for her again - hopefully sooner rather than later.

I've decided......the engine (of course) will come out of this bike....but I'd like to take some recommendations in advance over who I should possibly take it to. I've decided not to try and start this one since she has been standing for 24 years - she kicks over fine but I want someone to give her the once over and supply any attention it needs. I want to avoid the guys who you drop stuff off at and never seem to get around to actually doing the job - then two years later you get a different engine back - of late, I have heard some horror stories about this kind of thing. So - can anyone recommend someone who is honest, has fair prices and above all good with Super Dream engines?
