Will a cb250t ignition coil fit and work on a cb250n. Same year. It's what I might be buying. Unless you can recommend the David silver ones but the have 2 wires and mine has 1 wire and a white box connection

Are the David Silvers coils any good? I have been looking to replace my 400 coil, but seem to remember some saying they are not CDI compatible coils, is that right?
Oh and does anyone have a spare coil...

I remember a few people saying they had problems with them, maybe on the old forum. I think it was Rex Speedshop who said it was the way they were designed to work & not compatible with cdi ignition. There's a few on ebay, from a tenner up, if nobody on here has one. I've got a spare, but I want to hang on to it in case, but if anyone wants to borrowit for troubleshooting & post it back when done, they're welcome.

They don't even look quality. The ends are full of resin where original ones are a full casing. I've been warned against david silvers stuff but not tried any myself

If you goto david silvers Web page and search cb250n. Then click the year 79 and search in the results there's a 79 ignition coil. Correct me if I'm wrong. 79 superdreams didn't have points which means your coil was probably shoddy

That is correct no points on superdreams but the coils (according to Rex ) should work fine on something like a 250 G5 which had points so not shoddy just mis-sold and the service in refunding my purchase price and postage both ways was excellent which was the point I was trying to get across

might be worth having a word with rexs speedshop, he posted the following a few months age about a suzuki coil he sells that works on the sd. Our Suzuki GT coil is the correct type for the dream ignition, but with the mounting holes only 90 mm apart its too short. We build CDi units for both the Honda and the Suzuki and this coil has been thoroughly tested on both systems www.rexs-speedshop.com/epages/es143131.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=22059240&ViewAction=ViewProduct
