i dont know if this has been done before,,but ,soften the rubber tips ,,soak in cellulose thinners overnight,works a treat,hope this helps,

Useful to know, I haven't heard that before. They seem to give most trouble when a bike has stood for a while - had problems with them on my 250. Since I got it on the road , they've been ok.
